Fue una l\u00ednea de Levi\u2019s creada para prendas m\u00e1s orientadas a la <strong>moda y a las nuevas tendencias<\/strong>, especialmente durante los a\u00f1os 60 y 70, y continu\u00f3 utiliz\u00e1ndose durante varias d\u00e9cadas.<\/p><p>Hoy es una de las l\u00edneas de Levi\u2019s que m\u00e1s interesa a coleccionistas y aficionados al denim vintage.<\/p><h2>\ud83d\udfe0 \u00bfQu\u00e9 significa la Orange Tab de Levi\u2019s?<\/h2><p>Levi Strauss &amp; Co. empez\u00f3 a utilizar la Orange Tab en <strong>1969<\/strong> para diferenciar determinadas prendas de las l\u00edneas m\u00e1s tradicionales de la marca.<\/p><p>Mientras la famosa <strong>Red Tab<\/strong> estaba estrechamente asociada a los Levi\u2019s cl\u00e1sicos, especialmente a los 501\u00ae, la Orange Tab se utiliz\u00f3 en prendas con una orientaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s experimental y relacionada con las tendencias de cada momento.<\/p><p>La propia Levi\u2019s describe la Orange Tab como una colecci\u00f3n que inclu\u00eda prendas de moda como <strong>bootcut, bell-bottoms y otras siluetas menos tradicionales<\/strong>. Tambi\u00e9n apareci\u00f3 en diferentes tipos de prendas, no \u00fanicamente en vaqueros.<\/p><p>Por eso, encontrar una Orange Tab no significa simplemente que tengas un \u201c501 naranja\u201d. confusi\u00f3n bastante habitual.<\/p><p>La Orange Tab original <strong>no pertenece exclusivamente a los a\u00f1os 60 o 70<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Seg\u00fan la informaci\u00f3n publicada por Levi\u2019s, la colecci\u00f3n Orange Tab estuvo disponible aproximadamente entre <strong>1969 y 1999<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Por tanto, una Orange Tab puede proceder de diferentes momentos:<\/p><ul><li><p><strong>Finales de los a\u00f1os 60:<\/strong> aparecen los primeros modelos de la colecci\u00f3n.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>A\u00f1os 70:<\/strong> la l\u00ednea adquiere especial importancia, con numerosos cortes relacionados con las tendencias de la \u00e9poca.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>A\u00f1os 80 y 90:<\/strong> la Orange Tab contin\u00faa utiliz\u00e1ndose en diferentes prendas y dise\u00f1os.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Despu\u00e9s de 1999:<\/strong> la l\u00ednea original deja de producirse, aunque Levi\u2019s recuper\u00f3 posteriormente el concepto Orange Tab en nuevas colecciones, por ejemplo en 2017.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p>Por eso, <strong>una etiqueta naranja por s\u00ed sola no permite fechar una prenda con precisi\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Para determinar la \u00e9poca hay que observar tambi\u00e9n las etiquetas interiores, el modelo, el pa\u00eds de fabricaci\u00f3n, los materiales, las costuras, los cierres y otros detalles \u00bfQu\u00e9 tipo de prendas llevaban Orange Tab?<\/h2><p>Aunque hoy solemos asociar la Orange Tab con los vaqueros, Levi\u2019s la utiliz\u00f3 en una variedad bastante amplia de prendas.<\/p><p>Entre ellas encontramos:<\/p><ul><li><p>Jeans<\/p><\/li><li><p>Chaquetas<\/p><\/li><li><p>Camisas<\/p><\/li><li><p>Pantalones bootcut<\/p><\/li><li><p>Bell-bottoms<\/p><\/li><li><p>Otras prendas de denim<\/p><\/li><li><p>Algunas prendas de moda y activewear<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p>La propia compa\u00f1\u00eda explica que la l\u00ednea lleg\u00f3 a extenderse m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los pantalones y que tambi\u00e9n existieron camisas, prendas deportivas y otros art\u00edculos con Orange Tab.<\/p><p>Esto es importante porque <strong>Orange Tab no es un modelo concreto<\/strong>, sino una forma de identificar una determinada l\u00ednea de producto dentro de Levi\u2019s.<\/p><h2>\ud83d\udd0e \u00bfC\u00f3mo reconocer una Levi\u2019s Orange Tab?<\/h2><p>La pista m\u00e1s evidente es, obviamente, la <strong>etiqueta naranja cosida en el bolsillo trasero<\/strong> de la prenda.<\/p><p>Pero para identificar correctamente una pieza vintage no conviene quedarse \u00fanicamente con el color de la etiqueta.<\/p><h3>1. La etiqueta naranja<\/h3><p>Es la caracter\u00edstica que da nombre a la l\u00ednea.<\/p><p>En las prendas originales de la colecci\u00f3n encontrar\u00e1s la peque\u00f1a pesta\u00f1a naranja asociada a Levi\u2019s.<\/p><p>Sin embargo, Levi\u2019s ha utilizado diferentes colores de Tab a lo largo de su historia y tambi\u00e9n ha recuperado dise\u00f1os antiguos posteriormente, por lo que <strong>el color de la etiqueta debe utilizarse como una pista, no como una fecha exacta<\/strong>.<\/p><h3>2. El corte de la prenda<\/h3><p>Este es uno de los detalles m\u00e1s interesantes.<\/p><p>La Orange Tab estuvo muy vinculada a los cambios de moda de finales de los 60 y los 70.<\/p><p>Por eso podemos encontrar:<\/p><ul><li><p>Bootcut<\/p><\/li><li><p>Bell-bottom<\/p><\/li><li><p>Siluetas m\u00e1s ajustadas<\/p><\/li><li><p>Cortes menos tradicionales<\/p><\/li><li><p>Dise\u00f1os con detalles decorativos<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p>Levi Strauss &amp; Co. explica que precisamente la Orange Tab permit\u00eda a los dise\u00f1adores experimentar m\u00e1s con las siluetas y alejarse de las caracter\u00edsticas m\u00e1s estrictas de las prendas tradicionales de Red Tab.<\/p><h3>3. Los detalles de dise\u00f1o<\/h3><p>Algunas Orange Tab antiguas presentan caracter\u00edsticas que las diferencian visualmente de los Levi\u2019s cl\u00e1sicos.<\/p><p>Por ejemplo, pueden aparecer <strong>costuras decorativas diferentes al Arcuate tradicional<\/strong>, pinzas, pespuntes o detalles de dise\u00f1o menos habituales.<\/p><p>Levi\u2019s se\u00f1ala espec\u00edficamente que algunas prendas Orange Tab utilizaban dise\u00f1os de bolsillo diferentes en lugar del tradicional Arcuate.<\/p><h3>4. La etiqueta interior<\/h3><p>Para intentar fechar una pieza con m\u00e1s precisi\u00f3n hay que mirar la <strong>etiqueta interior<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Aqu\u00ed podemos encontrar informaci\u00f3n sobre:<\/p><ul><li><p>Fabricaci\u00f3n<\/p><\/li><li><p>Talla<\/p><\/li><li><p>Composici\u00f3n<\/p><\/li><li><p>Instrucciones de cuidado<\/p><\/li><li><p>Pa\u00eds de fabricaci\u00f3n<\/p><\/li><li><p>C\u00f3digo o referencias del modelo<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p>Esto resulta mucho m\u00e1s \u00fatil para fechar una prenda que fijarse \u00fanicamente en el color de la otra. <strong>Representan enfoques diferentes dentro de la historia de Levi\u2019s.<\/strong><\/p><h2>\ud83e\uddf5 \u00bfLa cremallera significa que es Orange Tab?<\/h2><p>No necesariamente.<\/p><p>Es cierto que muchos modelos Orange Tab incorporaron <strong>cierres de cremallera<\/strong>, especialmente en determinados modelos y \u00e9pocas, pero no debemos utilizar la cremallera como prueba definitiva de que una prenda es Orange Tab.<\/p><p>Por ejemplo, Levi\u2019s lanz\u00f3 el <strong>505\u00ae en 1967<\/strong>, un modelo de cierre con cremallera que precede al lanzamiento de Orange Tab en 1969.<\/p><p>Por eso:<\/p><p><strong>Cremallera \u2260 Orange Tab autom\u00e1ticamente.<\/strong><\/p><p>Hay que valorar el conjunto de caracter\u00edsticas de la prenda.<\/p><h2>\ud83d\udd70\ufe0f \u00bfUna Orange Tab es siempre vintage?<\/h2><p>No.<\/p><p>Esta es otra distinci\u00f3n importante.<\/p><p>La colecci\u00f3n Orange Tab original se produjo aproximadamente entre <strong>1969 y 1999<\/strong>, pero Levi\u2019s ha recuperado posteriormente el concepto en nuevas colecciones.<\/p><p>En 2017, por ejemplo, la marca anunci\u00f3 oficialmente el regreso de Orange Tab para una nueva colecci\u00f3n inspirada en los originales.<\/p><p>Por eso, si encontramos una prenda con Orange Tab, debemos distinguir entre:<\/p><p><strong>Orange Tab original vintage<\/strong><br \/>\u2192 producida durante el periodo hist\u00f3rico de la l\u00ednea.<\/p><p><strong>Orange Tab posterior\/reeditada<\/strong><br \/>\u2192 producida despu\u00e9s de la desaparici\u00f3n de la colecci\u00f3n original.<\/p><p>La etiqueta naranja por s\u00ed sola no basta para hacer esa
